EP 56 "Oppenheimer" - a review
WATCH: Youtube

In this episode, we wanted to do something different. We reviewed what is probably the movie of the summer - Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. We wanted to do this for two reasons: a) it might be one of the best cinematic experiences we have had in a while and b) it has many implications for issues we see today.
From breaking down our favorite scenes (when Matt Damon and Cillian Murphy first meet!) to performances to relevance for current issues like AI and more, this was fun.
In this episode, we cover:
0:00 Trailer
0:44 Our love for movies
5:30 Build up & the meta-narrative of Oppenheimer
10:04 Cillian Murphy's portrayal
14:24 Supporting cast: Matt Damon, RDJ, Emily Blunt
18:33 Oppenheimer's project management
22:55 The explosion
26:12 Endling, Nolan's vision, inspiration
27:36 Criticism: Kennedy, Nolan's dilemma
30:30 Implications for AI, is Nolan a Techno-optimist?
32:05 Patriotism, the Greater Good
